wow! i can't believe that today was the first day of high school. i feel completely old (which i guess, is considered a good thing among us children).
i packed up my backpack ahead of time and woke up at 6:20 this morning so that i could actually catch the bus... which only happens under extreme duress (like on the first days of school). my mom walked me to the bus stop which, in retrospect, was a little embarrassing. looks like i'm going to have to overcome my fear of being attacked in order to look more like a nonchalant high school student. my mom definitely sped up this process by telling me that the stalkers were probably not out at 6:40 am. when i got to the bus stop, there were two boys that i had never seen before. it was strange since everyone stood at least 5 feet apart (what are they, radioactive?)
when i walked into school, i was completely prepared for first period. then i realized. it was 6:55, and first period started at 7:25. i was shocked, just thinking about the difference that an extra 25 minutes of sleep could have made.
it was not a surprise that i got lost a whole lot. i must know: why is the gym in such an obscure place? well, i hope that this will get easier with time...
most of my teachers gave the insanely boring lecture about their rules and expectations. to be honest, they all have the same rules and expectations.
now this is not saying much, since it's only been one day, but my freshman year is looking bright! the upperclassmen aren't as freakishly large as i had expected.

school daze
i am now officially an eighth grader! i get the honor of sitting in the very back of the bus (even though i don't see why that's so special)... we're the kings of the school! since we switch off days having periods 1, 2, 4, 6 (even days) and periods 1, 3, 5, 7 (odd days), i only met half of my teachers today. science with ms. bazizl, history with mr. wesley, spanish with senora sloan, and honors geometry with mrs. xourias. it all started off easy... no homework, no classwork, just the regular "get to know each other games," and going over the rules which was so very boring.

what i found strange was that in US history, with mr. wesley, we have to do a daily warm up... on grammar. yes grammar. it looked familiar from english class last year, but i mean, come on. it's history! then i heard that he grades 10% of our writing by grammar.
then came honors geometry. right when we got there, it was like, pull out the journals!!! and mrs. xourias just starts talking super fast, i am just sitting there scribbling like crazy; arm cramp!!

first day in a new giant school
hey everyone!
yesterday... was the first day of school for me at pyle middle school! i went onto the bus, the 6th graders have to sit in the front. a bit like how the kindergarteners had to sit in the front in elementary school. yesterday was an even day, so i had periods 1, 2, 4, and 6. one is social studies which is shorter than the other periods because i have it everyday. my social studies teacher is mr. dixon. he is really nice but other people seem to think otherwise. two is science, my teacher is ms. hall, she is really perky, in a good way tho. she gave each of her classes a color for their paper storage and journals. four is math, i am in math b. my math teacher is ms. ozenberger and the classroom is right across from my locker. my locker is in the basement. six is band, i play violin. my band teacher is ms. butler, there were over 75 trophies on the walls;7th and 8th graders compete, but 6th graders don't. most of the band time yesterday was just reading off rules and consequences. when i was riding home on the bus, a little before my stop i asked the bus driver if i should get off there or if he would stop at my street. he said to walk, but he stopped there anyway!! afterwards my mom, sister and i went to staples to get more journals and a new binder.
